How to Download from MyFlixer

MyFlixer has no official download button — no built-in MyFlixer downloader or MyFlixer video downloader feature — but there are three proven methods to save movies and TV shows for offline viewing. This guide covers all three, step by step, for every device.

01 Browser Extension
02 Direct Download Link
03 Screen Recording

Can You Download from MyFlixer?

Yes — but not through an official download button. MyFlixer streams content through third-party video servers and does not provide a native save or download feature. However, three methods consistently work across different devices and server types. Each method suits different situations, and knowing which one to use saves a lot of time.

The most important thing to do before attempting any download is to install uBlock Origin in your browser. MyFlixer's video players are served by third-party providers that inject pop-up advertisements — some of which are aggressive and can interfere with the download process. With uBlock Origin active, these pop-ups are blocked before they load, making the entire process cleaner and safer.

Also worth noting: downloading copyrighted movies and TV shows without authorisation from the rights holder may violate copyright law in your country. The legal risk of downloading is generally considered higher than streaming, since a downloaded file is a permanent copy rather than a temporary stream. If you are in a country with active copyright enforcement, consider using a VPN alongside any of the methods below.

⚠️ Always use uBlock Origin before opening MyFlixer. Never click any pop-up that appears over or around the video player. Pop-ups cannot harm your device without action from you — simply close them and continue.

Browser Extension — Best for PC

The most reliable and widely used method. A video downloader browser extension detects the video stream URL that MyFlixer loads inside the player and lets you save it as a file directly to your device. Works on Windows and Mac with Chrome or Firefox.

01

Video DownloadHelper (Chrome / Firefox)

Free browser extension — detects and captures any video stream playing in your browser

Difficulty
You Need
Chrome or Firefox browser Video DownloadHelper extension (free) uBlock Origin (recommended)
1

Install Video DownloadHelper

Open the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons page and search for Video DownloadHelper. It is a free extension with over 10 million installs. Click Add to Chrome (or Add to Firefox) and confirm the installation. A small icon will appear in your browser toolbar.

2

Open MyFlixer and Play Your Video

Navigate to a working MyFlixer domain and find the movie or episode you want to download. Click play on the video. The Video DownloadHelper icon in your toolbar will animate — this means it has detected an active video stream on the page.

3

Click the Extension Icon

Click the Video DownloadHelper icon in your toolbar. A dropdown will appear listing all detected video streams on the current page. You will typically see several entries — these correspond to the different quality levels of the stream (360p, 720p, 1080p).

4

Choose Quality and Download

Select the quality you want — higher numbers mean better quality and larger file size. Click the download arrow next to your chosen stream. The file will begin downloading to your default Downloads folder. For longer videos, this may take several minutes depending on your connection speed.

5

If No Streams Are Detected

Some MyFlixer servers use stream protection that prevents the extension from detecting the URL. If this happens, switch to a different server on the player page and click play again. The extension will re-scan. Most titles have at least one server that the extension can capture.

💡 If Video DownloadHelper is not detecting streams on a particular server, try switching to the yt-dlp command-line tool. It handles a wider range of stream types including HLS streams that browser extensions sometimes miss. Paste the video page URL into yt-dlp and it will find and download the stream automatically.

Screen Recording — Works on Every Device

The most universal method — works on every device and operating system without any additional tools beyond what is already built into most modern devices. The tradeoff is that the resulting file quality depends on your screen resolution and you need to watch the video in real time while recording.

03

Built-in Screen Recorder

Works on Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android — no extra software needed on most devices

Difficulty
You Need
Any device (phone, tablet, PC, Mac) Screen recorder (built-in on most devices) Time equal to video length
1

Windows — Use Xbox Game Bar

On Windows 10 and 11, press Win + G to open the Xbox Game Bar. Click the record button (circle icon) or press Win + Alt + R to start recording. Open your browser, navigate to MyFlixer, and play the video. Press Win + Alt + R again when finished. The file saves automatically to your Videos folder as an MP4.

2

Mac — Use QuickTime Player

Open QuickTime Player from your Applications folder. Go to File → New Screen Recording. Click the record button, choose whether to record the full screen or a selected area, then click Start Recording. Play the video on MyFlixer. When done, click the stop button in the menu bar. QuickTime saves the recording as a .mov file which plays in any modern media player.

3

iPhone — Built-in Screen Record

Add Screen Recording to your Control Center if not already there (Settings → Control Center → add Screen Recording). Swipe down to open Control Centre, long-press the record button, and make sure Microphone is on if you want audio. Tap Start Recording, open Safari, navigate to MyFlixer, and play the video. Tap the red status bar at the top when you want to stop. The recording saves to your Photos app.

4

Android — Built-in Screen Recorder

Most Android phones (Android 11 and above) include a built-in screen recorder in the Quick Settings panel — pull down your notification shade and look for a Screen Recorder tile. If your phone does not have one built in, install AZ Screen Recorder from the Play Store — it is free and does not add watermarks. Start recording, play the video on MyFlixer, and stop when done. The file saves to your phone storage as an MP4.

⚠️ Screen recording quality is capped by your screen resolution. On a Full HD (1080p) screen, recordings will be 1080p maximum. On a 720p laptop screen, recordings will be 720p. For the best quality output, use Method 1 (browser extension) which captures the raw stream file directly rather than recording the screen.

Best Method for Every Device

The right download method depends on what device you are using. Here is the recommended approach for each platform.

💻

Windows PC

Use Video DownloadHelper in Chrome or Firefox for the best results. For streams the extension cannot detect, use yt-dlp from the command line. Screen recording via Xbox Game Bar is the fallback.

🍎

Mac

Video DownloadHelper works well in Chrome and Firefox on Mac. QuickTime Player provides a reliable built-in screen recording option that is simple to use and produces clean output.

Method 1 or 3
📱

iPhone / iPad

Check for a direct download link below the player first — this is the easiest option on iOS. If not available, use the built-in iOS Screen Recording feature accessible from the Control Centre.

Method 2 or 3
🤖

Android

Use Kiwi Browser (a Chromium-based Android browser that supports Chrome extensions) with Video DownloadHelper installed. Alternatively, use the built-in screen recorder or AZ Screen Recorder.

📺

Firestick / Smart TV

Direct download is not practical on TV devices. The most feasible option is to download the file on your phone or computer first using Method 1 or 2, then transfer it to the TV via USB drive or streaming it from your phone.

Advanced: yt-dlp

yt-dlp is a free, open-source command-line tool that handles a much wider range of video stream formats than browser extensions. If you are comfortable with a terminal, it is the most powerful option across all platforms.

Download Questions Answered

Common questions about downloading from MyFlixer.

Can you download movies from MyFlixer?
Yes, using one of the three methods covered in this guide — a browser extension to capture the video stream, a direct download button on select servers, or screen recording. MyFlixer itself does not have a built-in official download feature.
Is it safe to download from MyFlixer?
The download process itself is safe when using reputable tools like Video DownloadHelper. The main risk is the pop-up ads on MyFlixer's player pages — install uBlock Origin before visiting to block these. Never download any file that a pop-up tells you to install. For more detail, see our Is MyFlixer Safe guide.
How to download movies from MyFlixer on PC?
Install Video DownloadHelper in Chrome or Firefox. Open MyFlixer, find your movie, click play, then click the extension icon in your toolbar. Select the quality you want from the dropdown and click download. The file saves to your Downloads folder as an MP4.
Can you download MyFlixer on iPhone?
iPhone does not support browser extensions in Safari, so Method 1 is not available on iOS. First check if a direct download button appears below the player on any server option. If not, use the built-in iOS screen recording feature from Control Centre to capture the video while it plays.
How to download MyFlixer on Android?
On Android, install Kiwi Browser from the Play Store — it supports Chrome extensions, so you can install Video DownloadHelper and use Method 1. Alternatively, check for a direct download link on the player page, or use your phone's built-in screen recorder (available on Android 11+) or AZ Screen Recorder.
Why is Video DownloadHelper not detecting the stream?
Some servers on MyFlixer use HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) which fragments the video into small chunks rather than serving it as a single file. Some versions of Video DownloadHelper handle this differently depending on the browser. Try switching to a different server on the player page. If still no luck, the yt-dlp command-line tool handles HLS streams reliably on all platforms.
What format do downloaded MyFlixer videos come in?
Files downloaded via browser extension or direct link are usually in MP4 format, which plays in VLC, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, and any other modern media player. Screen recordings save as MP4 on Windows (Xbox Game Bar), MOV on Mac (QuickTime), and MP4 on Android and iPhone.
Is downloading from MyFlixer illegal?
Downloading copyrighted content without authorisation from the rights holder is generally considered a more serious copyright violation than streaming, since a downloaded file is a permanent copy. The legal situation varies by country. If you are in a country with active copyright enforcement, use a VPN when downloading. Consider legal alternatives like Tubi or Plex which allow free streaming without any legal risk.
